About the Coalition for a Drug Free Newton County
The Coalition for a Drug Free Newton County is a community board that welcomes anyone who wants to participate in keeping Newton County drug-free. The membership roster contains people across many different organizations throughout the community.
Each year the Coalition is required to report to the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute regarding their outreach, impact data, and other information that the Coalition deems necessary to target in their annual plan. See the latest report below.
Local Coordinating Council
Our Coalition is one of Indiana's LCCs. Indiana Local Coordinating Councils (LCCs) are authorized under IC 5-2-11 as countywide, public-facing, collaborative bodies approved by the Indiana Commission to Combat Substance Use Disorder.
What We Do
We are responsible for creating comprehensive community plans, managing county drug-free community funds, and implementing local substance abuse prevention, treatment, and justice strategies.
